Class: Pilates and Yoga for Lower Back Pain

A complete class for flexion related lower back pain

  • Do you have lower back pain with prolonged sitting that limiting your ability to drive or travel long distances?

  • Would you like a gentle physio-pilates and yoga sequence to enjoy from the comfort of your own home that includes expert pain relieving tips?

This class is for you! Our qualified physiotherapy and exercise physiology team will take you through a short explanation of ‘flexion related’ lower back pain and the variety of potential causes to help you relieve your pain! "Flexion related pain' simply means your pain is more commonly worsened by bending forward, lifting or sitting.

Throughout the class we then journey through a mix of supine, seated and standing exercises including a yoga flow and pilates core stability and strengthening. We also include physio tips to manage pain with sitting and bending, as well as a guided relaxation.

This class is designed for mild to moderate lower back pain. It is not suitable in the presence of nerve impingement radiating into leg pain, paraesthesia or neurological compromise.

Nichole is also a qualified yoga teacher, mindfulness meditation teacher and pilates instructor.

I have lower back pain- is this the right video for me?
This video is designed for people who more often experience their lower back pain with flexion related activities. Flexion related activities are those activities where you are bent over or sitting. This includes pain worsened by activities such as gardening, driving, lifting or bending forwards. If this sounds like you then this video is likely to suit your needs. If your pain is worse with being in extension or upright (such as walking, standing or leaning backwards), then you are more suited to our other lower back pain class video designed for extension related activities.
